Gentleman farmer, lark enthusiast, and no stranger to the less-traveled foot path, Red Pederson was the foremost champion and maker of distinguished comfortable shoes.
"A Stroll at Dusk in Sensible Shoes," by Lisa Kaser
The stork let go of me in my bundle over Portland, Oregon—an agreeable place for my disposition. Gray skies and dripping cedars turn me happily inward and trigger active meditations that let flow from my pencil a menagerie of waggish characters.
These wanderers make their way onto skiffs, high branches, hillocks, and wending paths—finding pleasure in the small things and moments and sweet connections with fellow romantics.
I received a BFA in Textiles from the University of Oregon in 1984. I work with different needle crafts and create textiles, mixed media sculpture, and fine art illustrations for exhibitions, commissions, and children’s books. My work has been shown and collected throughout the United States, Japan, Korea, and Europe.
My illustrations are created with pencil, ink, and watercolor. The titles and accompanying narratives reflect my love of words and storytelling.
