Valerie Nieman wins the Seven Hills Award For Young Adult Fiction

Valerie Nieman has won the Seven Hills Award for young adult fiction with the opening to her novel Backwater

Neiman's poems have have appeared recently in the new anthology Eyes Glowing at the Edge of the Woods from West Virginia University Press, as well as the journals One, Kestrel, and Postcard Poems and Prose. Her latest poetry manuscript, The Leopard Lady Speaks, was an honorable mention for the May Sarton Book Prize.
